Our History

Steak N’ Things has been serving the Lorton and Fairfax Station communities with dedication and passion for years. What began as a modest, local carry-out spot has grown into a beloved fixture. Our mission from the start has been to deliver the best comfort food with a personal touch. Founded with the goal of bringing delicious and hearty meals to the neighborhood, Steak N’ Things quickly became known for its unbeatable steak and cheese subs; a crowd favorite that has stood the test of time. Over the years, we've expanded our menu to include a wide array of options to satisfy a variety of tastes. Our small, dedicated team has grown alongside our loyal customer base while our focus is to provide the community with food that's cooked to perfection.

Why We Care!

At Steak N’ Things, our commitment to the Lorton community goes beyond just serving meals; it’s about fostering meaningful connections. Lorton has been our home, and we are proud to serve the people who make this area special. We care because we understand that our customers aren’t just patrons—they’re our neighbors, families, and friends. By offering fresh, high-quality food with fast and friendly service, we aim to bring comfort, joy, and reliability to every dining experience.

Our goal is to be more than a restaurant; we want to be a trusted part of the community. From supporting local events to providing a welcoming space for all, our dedication to Lorton stems from our belief that food has the power to strengthen bonds. Whether it’s a quick meal during a busy day or catering a family gathering, we take pride in being a place that people can rely on for quality and care. It’s this connection to our customers and our shared community that drives everything we do.

“First time checking this place out: I was going to take a picture of my chicken philly, but I made the mistake of taking a bite first. It never made it to the picture phase for this review. Delicious. Next time, I’ll be asking for less cheese and extra meat (reasonably priced for $3 more). The customer service was fantastic. The owner was even kind enough to let me try some falafel because it wasn’t available on their online menu which I ordered from. Father Falafel didn’t let me down. It’s spice mixture didn’t over power the chickpeas – It didn’t taste like I was eating a garlic, parsley, or cilantro ball – perfectly balanced – and that crunch from the fry. WOOO. Loved it. Star of the show. Type of crunch, texture, and taste that’ll make you realize sometimes the OGs are just better (sorry hushpuppies). Great food. Great Service. Great Prices. Will be back again.”
